TOWN SQUARE TELEVISION ANNOUNCES ITS 2022 COMMUNITY TELEVISION VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR & PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
February 15, 2023 - Inver Grove Heights, MN-- Town Square Television is pleased to announce that Tom Polzin, a member of the South St. Paul Lion’s Club, has received the 2022 Community Television Volunteer of the Year Award. Tom was chosen for this award because of the many hours he has dedicated and the talents he brings to Town Square Television mobile truck productions. Tom answered the call for volunteer crew on nearly every opportunity in 2022.
“Tom has served as a volunteer since 2021 and is always eager to lend a helping hand. His hard work, skill and positive attitude during holiday events, graduations, parades and other mobile truck productions is helpful and greatly appreciated. Tom also appeared on camera last fall in a humorous PSA with fellow TST volunteer and board member Mark Goossens, promoting our Give to the Max fundraiser. Tom brings his sense of humor and fun spirit to every shoot. We love having Tom on crew!” says Shawn Vougeot, TST Staff Producer & Volunteer Coordinator.
Town Square Television is also delighted to announce that Brian Sweeney has been named the 2022 Community Television Producer of the Year. Brian was chosen because of his dedication to producing high quality local programming such as the Minnesota Vixen football games and his own Vixen highlights show called Road to Canton. Brian appeared on our live Give to the Max show (at 1:36:10) in November, and shared why he has been a volunteer PA Announcer and supporter of the Vixen since 2014.
“Brian has volunteered and produced programming for Town Square Television for several years, especially sports productions. He has partnered with TST to provide coverage of the Minnesota Vixen, including out of state road games, and last fall he served as co-host on Town Square Television’s live election program Decision 2022. Brian’s professionalism and dedication to hosting, announcing and producing numerous programs for local viewers are invaluable to achieving TST’s mission of ‘engaging and connecting ALL through local community television’,” says Toby Stanga, TST Staff Sports & Mobile Production Coordinator.
Tom and Brian will be recognized at the April 12th NDC4 Cable Commission meeting and will be presented with framed awards and embroidered TST winter coats in appreciation of their service.
