The Northern Dakota County community lost a treasured local historian, Lois Glewwe, on February 16, 2023. She was a long-time member and former Executive Director of the Dakota County Historical Society, authored several books on the County’s history, and gave many presentations, and even bus tours, of the historical sites in the area. She was an active member of the MN Historical Society, Chapter CC PEO, South St. Paul Garden Club , MN Independent Scholars Forum, and First Presbyterian Church in South St. Paul. Lois was also a wonderful friend to Town Square Television, over the years, serving on our non-profit board, co-hosting election coverage, and helping us to share our area’s fascinating history. Few people have the knack for telling a story like Lois did – demanding historical accuracy, but also filled with colorful characters, engaging plots, and reflections on how the past brings us into the future. Her stories, knowledge, and friendship will be missed by all of us.
